Description

The recent passing of Elisabeth Sladen, known to many Doctor Who fans as the beloved companion Sarah Jane Smith, has shocked and saddened many Whovians throughout the world, for she has brought many of her charming qualities and a sense of honesty to the character who is currently gaining royal followers since the establishment of the SJA TV series. Because her show ended halfway through its lifetime, I feel it would be fitting to create a possible poetic finale to the series (though I haven't watched most of the series yet, aside of being a Malaysian) as a proper tribute to a great actress.

ONE SORROWFUL DAY by Glen Bosiwang

Once, in a small sanctuary where the evil of the universe cannot touch,
Lies a coffin that holds one of the most beloved friend
We all could ever wished for;
A faithful companion who travels through time and space
With a ‘mad man in a box’ known as the Doctor.

Sarah Jane might not be the bravest of the lot,
But truly, she has a heart of steel and gold,
Saving the Doctor’s life more than once,
And willing to face a wave of cosmic terrors,
Even when she was one step closer to death.

But no one can stand against the might of Time,
And on this fateful day, she was one of them.

As Luke knelt over Sarah’s resting place,
The magical blue box materialized before them.
Behind the vintage door came the legendary Time Lord,
Who could control the flow and the fate of the galaxy but one.

Slowly, he walked towards the sobering child,
Placing his left hand on his shoulder.
Luke raised his head to face him,
Before rising up to embrace the seemingly content Doctor.

‘Oh Doctor! I cannot believe Mom is gone forever,
Into the darker depths of the abyss.
She had always been afraid of the unknown,
Where she would be crying for help.
Doctor, can you really bring her back?’

The Doctor shook his head in a rather graceful yet melancholic manner.

‘I’m afraid that’s not possible, Luke,
For such event is a fixed point
Where I dare not interfere with.
But fear not, for I had seen the last of her
Minutes before I came to you.’

Luke’s eyes glimmered with hope as he continued to listen to the Doctor.

‘Sarah is now part of the cosmic spirits
Which traverse across the shimmering stars.
She is no longer afraid of being alone,
For she already has seen all beyond even my comprehension,
Throughout time and space.’

Rest In Peace,
Elisabeth Sladen

Elizabeth (I'm American so 'S's are 'Z's) is younger than Tom Baker even John Hurt is younger than Tom Baker. Elizabeth and John died 6 years apart and Tom is still alive.

Tom Baker is actually the Doctor. (Great now I said that).
